1. Technical
===================================

1.1 - What engine does Lineage 2 use?

1.4 - What are the servers current computer specs?

The server is currently split between 2 machines running on port 6980

Machine 1:
Dual 2.8 Xeon Processors
2GB Ram
200MBit Connection

Our line is T1 for the moment and will increase as player base grows.

1.5 - What are the drop rates on your server?
Bartz rates:
5x 5x 5x 5x [EXP, ADENA (aka gold), DROPS, SPOIL]

Sieghardt rates:
100x 150x 20x 20x [EXP, ADENA (aka gold), DROPS, SPOIL]

1.6 - Why can’t I login?

Firstly make sure you installed everything correctly and in the correct order.

Installed Lineage 2 game client found at http://Lineage2.com (DO NOT USE LINK)
Updated Lineage 2 client using the games patching system. (DO NOT PATCH)
Changed your host file to fit our server.

If you still cannot connect make sure that port 6980 is open as the server needs this to function correctly.

*Make sure you actually made an account. Your game account is not the same as you forum account. We still like for our users to be active on the forums though :)

If you still cannot login to the game you either entered in the wrong user name and password or there was something wrong with the password you used when you registered. If you are not sure you can always change it to something else using the http://www.fantastictropicalpwnage.com website.

"Access Failed" error message:This is the message you will get if the server is full. A temporary server cap is set at maximum 3000 players.

If after you have checked and re-checked everything listed here. Log on to IRC(internet relay chat) on a gamesurge server. Type /join #Lineage after you have fully logged on. Popular IRC clients are MIRC (mirc.com) or the extension to firefox web browser (tools/extensions.) If you have no idea what's IRC or how to use it, read the mIRC tutorial

A more indepth tutorial for using mIRC can be found here:
IRC Tutorial

1.7 - Can I play in a window mode?

Yes, Fantastic Tropical Pwnage admins have no problem if you want to play in a window instead of fullscreen. There are two ways that you can make your client play in a window.

Google - Lineage 2 decrypter. You can use that program to decrypt the L2.ini located in the system folder of your Lineage 2 client by simply dragging it over the top of the program. Make a backup of your L2.ini prior to editing it. Scroll down to StartupFullscreen option and change that to “False” no qoutes. You then save the file and re-encrypt it. It will ask you what option to use when encrypting the file. 212 is the correct option. We don't reccomend client modding however, so do this at your own risk.

Another option is when you first startup the game. Hold Alt+Ctrl+Shift+ENTER. This works but can sometimes goof up the client and you have to reload it.

1.8 - Why don't you support client modding?

Well, for one it can mess up your client. Also, we don't want people modding the client for their benefit over other players.

1.9 - How do I control the Camera in Lineage 2? I don't get it.

You can move the camera angle around by holding the right mouse button and moving the mouse left. right. up or down. You can zoom the camera in and out using the mouse wheel. Alternatively you can use the Page Up and Page Down keys to switch between 1 of three views. Normal Distance, Long Distance and First Person. You can also switch from front to back view by simply clicking the middle mouse button.

===================================
2. Development
===================================

2.1 - Is there a way to let Mac Users play Lineage 2?

Since Lineage II is currently using unreal warfare engine there is currently no way for a Mac User to play Lineage 2. Go play with your Adobe Photoshop. smile.gif

2.2 - Do you guys listen to player suggestions?

Of course we do. We love our players and listen to every suggestion.

2.3 - Is there anything we can do to help you guys out?

Report any bugs you find in the game on the forums. Take a screen shot of it if you can.

===================================
3. Combat
===================================

3.1 - How does the combat system work?

It's similar to the first Lineage game and Raganarok Online. Though it's a 3D game you can still do just about anything with a simple mouse click.

3.2 - Do players get special combat moves?

Each class has it's own special moves aka skills that you acquire as you advance in levels.

3.3 - Will different races or classes get different special combat skills?

Absolutely! Every race/class has their own unique skills and abilities. There are basic skills that are however shared by all races/classes.

3.4 - Will there be Castle Sieges and if so how will it work?

Yes, there will be Castle Sieges. Sieges are done by registering your Clan/Guild for the Siege. There is an NPC outside of every Castle in the game that you use to register for the battle. Your Clan/Guild must be of proper lvl to start a Castle Siege Event.

3.5 - Is there a party system for group combat?

Players battle together under a leader and share experience points. Party members can see each player's health (HP) during battle and aid those who are losing their fight. The system supports new features to both leader and members, including party organization; Blood Pledge war system. This system has been enhanced to include alliance and government delegation functions, making war possible on a larger scale.

3.6 - How does the magic system work?

Broadly speaking, magic spells are acquired through books, and each use of magic takes up a set amount of MP (mana points). Magic skills operate essentially like any other skill in the game with different requirements to obtain the skill and sometimes to use the skill.

3.7 - How does PvP work?

First off, everyone in the game starts out with their name highlighted in white. Upon attacking a person, your name will change colors. If you cancel the attack on the person, then your name will remain this color for ~45 seconds. If the person attacks you back, then they turn this color as well and you both hack each other down until someone dies. If you kill a person who does not attack you back in defense, however, then you will turn red. You cannot be flagged red if you attack a person who is purple. Upon being flagged red, you will receive negative karma and will have no protection upon death (your corpse can be looted) and people can attack you freely without without being flagged.

===================================
4. Clans
===================================

4.1 - How do I create a Clan?

Any character over level 10 may create a clan. When a character has reached level 10 or higher, he/she can go to the NPC responsible for clan creation.
Clan names may be comprised of up to 16 alphabetical and numerical characters and cannot include spaces or special characters.

A clan is made up of a clan leader (commonly known as a lord) and a number of clan members. New clans may accept up to 10 members. As the clan progresses and attains skills, they can have up to 40 members.

4.2 - How do I quit my Clan?

A clan member may leave a clan, but they will suffer penalties as a result.

If a clan leader wants to kick a player from their clan, they can go into the Clan Window, click on the Actions / Clan tab, select the name of the player and click the "DISMISS" button.

If a player wants to leave a clan, they can go into the Clan Window, click on the Actions / Clan tab and click the "LEAVE" button.

When a member is dismissed from or leaves a clan, the clan must wait five calendar days to accept new members. When a member leaves a clan, he/she may not join any other clan for five calendar days.

If the clan leader withdraws from the clan, the clan is automatically dissolved and receives penalties.

4.3 - Who can dissolve a Clan?

A clan leader may dissolve the clan without the prior consent of the members. Dissolving a clan is done in the same manner as creating a clan, through the appropriate NPCs.
A clan leader who dissolves his/her clan receives experience penalties comparable to one death and cannot create another clan for ten days. In addition, all the skills and fame that the clan possesses will be lost.

It takes seven calendar days to dissolve a clan. Clan skills are restricted until the dissolution occurs, but clan chat and clan bulletin boards may still be used. A clan cannot be dissolved when involved in a clan war.

4.4 - What skills does having a Clan give me?

Clan skills may be acquired in phases via clan quests. If a clan completes a quest they are eligible for, they acquire a new level of clan skills. Through these skills, the clan gains various clan management abilities and powers, including clan member registration, expulsion, dissolution, transferring of authority, and warehouse usage. The higher the skill, the more powerful a clan may become.

4.5 - How does my Clan start a war with another Clan?

Only clans with skill level 3 or higher may declare war on another clan. Only clans with over five members may be challenged.

Clan war cannot be declared on an allied clan. A clan that is currently involved in a clan war cannot declare war upon another clan until the first war has ended. However, the clan may accept war challenges from another clan.

First, declare war on a desired opponent. The other clan leader must be in the game for war to be successfully declared. To declare war, use the Clan tab in the Action menu.

The battle begins when the opposing clan accepts the challenge. If the opponent refuses, no battle occurs.

4.6 - What should I expect to see during a Clan war?

The clan’s emblem appears above each character's head by default.

You do not need to press the Ctrl key to attack an opposing clan member during war.

Guards do not participate in wars between clans.

Players killed in battle receive one-quarter of normal death. If a player is killed by Summons or a Pet, then they suffer full penalty.

An individual may choose to surrender if placed in a dangerous situation in battle, even if the war itself has not ended. An individual that has chosen to surrender receives experience penalties equal to one death and does not have to go back to war. To surrender, use the Clan tab in the Action menu.

A clan may not be dissolved during war.

4.7 - How do I stop a Clan war already in progress?

The war comes to an end when one of the following requirements is satisfied:

The opposing clan surrenders (at least one or more members of the surrendering clan must be present in the game).

One clan proposes a truce and the other accepts. The battle ends in a draw.

All clan members, excluding the clan leader, have individually surrendered.

Regardless of the outcome, any clan that has declared war, or any clan that has accepted a declaration of war, cannot declare another war for five days.
If a clan surrenders, the clan leader receives experience penalties equal to one death.

4.8 - Will you delete my Clan for me? I don't want to wait 7 days!

No, now bugger off!

===================================
5. Alliances
===================================

5.1 - How does my Clan create an Alliance?

If a clan's level is five or above, the clan leader can go to an NPC that creates alliances and request the creation of an alliance. Alliance names may be comprised of up to sixteen alphabetical and numerical characters, not to include spaces or special characters.

5.2 - What are the privileges of an Alliance Leader?

The leader of an alliance has the right to add a clan to their alliance.

Dismiss an existing allied clan from an alliance: An alliance leader can remove a clan that currently belongs to their alliance. Afterwards, the dismissed clan cannot join another alliance for twenty-four hours after being dismissed. The alliance that removed a clan from its alliance cannot accept a new clan for alliance for twenty-four hours. Should a clan leave an alliance voluntarily rather than being dismissed by an alliance leader, the alliance can accept another clan to join it at any time.

5.3 - Are there any limitations to creating an Alliance?

If a clan already belongs to an alliance, the clan cannot create an alliance of its own, nor can it join another alliance.

During a castle siege, a clan on the offensive side cannot form an alliance with a clan on the defensive side and vice-versa.

The clans that are engaged in a clan war against each other cannot form an alliance.

An alliance can consist of up to five clans, including the alliance leader's clan.

5.4 - How do I dissolve an Alliance?

An alliance leader may dissolve an alliance without obtaining consent from clan leaders whose clans belong to the same alliance. The alliance leader who dissolved the alliance cannot establish a new alliance for ten days after the alliance's dissolution.

When an alliance is dissolved, unlike the dissolution of a clan, it will take effect immediately. Any related functions, such as alliance chat, will stop at once. Alliance related actions, such as dissolve, leave and dismiss can happen at any time, even during a clan or alliance war. However, an alliance cannot be dissolved during a castle siege.

5.5 - What should I expect to see in an Alliance?

A new chat channel is offered only to alliance members. This channel exists separately from the clan chat channel. While players are in a clan chat channel, the contents of an alliance chat channel will not be visible and vice-versa.

An alliance leader can create a crest for his alliance that its allied clans can display in addition to each clan's crest. The alliance crest is displayed in front of a clan's crest. The size of a crest is limited to 8 pixels in width and 12 pixels in length (256 color [8-bit] BMP file).

An alliance member can view information about the master clan of their alliance, their own clan, the names and total numbers of allied clans and the number of currently logged-in allied clans.

5.6 - What are my game commands I can use to manage my Alliance?

/allyinvite [clan leader] Invite a clan to join their alliance.
/allyleave Leave the alliance.
/allyoust [clan name] Dismiss a particular clan from their alliance.
/allydismiss Dissolve the alliance.
/allycrest Register a crest for their alliance.
/allyinfo Information about their own alliance.
/allywarstart [alliance name] Declares war on another alliance.
/allywarstop [alliance name] End an alliance war.
/allywarsurrender [alliance name] Surrender to the opposing alliance.

5.7 - What is an Alliance War?

An alliance war is held independently of clan wars. It is a war at the alliance level, held regardless of whether or not its allied clans are currently engaged in clan wars. An alliance that is currently engaged in an alliance war cannot declare war against another alliance until the current alliance war has ended.

An alliance war begins when an alliance leader declares war to the leader of another alliance. Declaration of war is possible only when the leader of the target alliance has logged into the game. If the leader of the other alliance accepts the declaration of war, an alliance war will begin. An alliance war will not be held if the leader of the target alliance rejects the declaration.

Allied clans will automatically participate in an alliance war when its alliance goes to war, regardless of its desire to do so.

5.8 - How long does the War last?

Till one alliance surrenders (no consent is needed for surrender).

Till one alliance suggests ending the war without a winner and the other alliance accepts it.

5.9 - What happens to an Alliance during a Castle Siege?

During a castle siege, the following rules are applied to clans regarding relationships with their alliances.

Since a clan's relationship to its alliance is of a higher level than the relationship of attacker/defender, a clan that belongs to the same alliance as the defending clan cannot register in a siege on the offensive side. Likewise, a clan that is allied with a clan on the offensive side cannot register in the same siege on the defensive side.

When a castle siege begins, if a character belongs to an allied clan on the defensive side and they are not currently registered on the defensive side, they will be bounced out of the castle.

If the castle lord has been replaced during a castle siege (i.e., mid victory), the new clan that become the owner of the castle and its allied clans that were originally registered on the offense side will be automatically re-registered on the defense side. All other characters will be bounced out of the castle.

===================================
6. Races
===================================

6.1 - How many races are there in Lineage 2?

There are a total of five races in Lineage 2. Human, Elf, Dark Elf, Orc and Dwarf. Each with their own characteristics and special abilities.

6.2 - Does it really matter which race I pick or are they all the same?

Each race shares six base character stats (strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma.) Each races base stats are different from one and other. These stats change depending on what class you choose for you character.

Every race has there own special classes that no other race can be. A human will never be an Monk or Tyrant. An Orc will never be a Warlock.

6.3 - Does each race carry it's own faction in the game?

It is suppose to but you honestly will never really notice it. Regardless of your race, you can still go to any town in the game without fear of being attack by the guards or traders.

6.4 - Are there race specific armors and weapons in the game?

Non that I know of at this time. Any race can use the same armor and weapons that the other races use. Granted you should always use the armor and weapons that your class excels in.

6.5 - What about race only quests? Do they exist in Lineage 2?

You bet they do. Nearly ever race has quests in their starter town that only their race can do. Some more then others and a lot of them are repeatable. Meaning that you can do them over and over again to help earn adena for building your character.

6.6 - Is there anything else I should know about the different races in the game?

Humans start on an island away from the rest of the world. It will cost you 18k adena to leave when you are ready to move on.

Orcs / Dwarves start in Elmore. It will cost you 6k adena to leave Elmore when you are ready to move on. Orcs and Dwarfs are on different parts of Elmore and cannot reach each other without using a teleport NPC located in their starter town.

Elf / Dark Elf start on Aden. They have it the best as far as travel since they are on the main continent of the game. Both their starter towns are close enough to each other that you can walk from one to the other in about 15 minutes with a haste potion bought from a NPC trader in town.

6.7 - Is there anything else I should know about the races?

Human Advantages:

- Balanced stats
- Good Looking

Disadvantages:

- They are basic and have no special abilities.

Elf Advantages:

- They are fast and accurate.

Disadvantages:

- Low Strength and Constitution

Dark Elf Advantages:

- Good attack
- Balanced stats
- Strong magic

Disadvantages:

- Low health
- Run is annoying to some people.
Orc Advantages:

- Good strength
- Good health
- Best race for hunting without a group

Disadvantages:

- Very low Mental Ability
- Low Spell Power

Dwarf Advantages:

- Can build items
- Good Strength and Constitution

Disadvantages:

- There is no mage class for dwarves

6.8 - Will you delete my Character for me? I don't want to wait 7 days!

No, now bugger off!

===================================
7. General
===================================

7.1 - At what time does Lineage 2 take place?

Lineage II's background story is 150 years earlier than Lineage's time. In the age of Lineage II, Gunter hasn't been to the Talking Island, and King Decon (Lineage's main character Depardieu's grandfather) has not been born. It is an unstable time when the world of Aden had just unified. Elmore, the strong country in the north, and Gracia, a mysterious country overseas, are engaged in a triangular struggle with Aden as well.

The world 150 years ago is different from the one in Lineage, but subtly same. You'll run into places, people and monsters you might hear about in Lineage.

7.2 - Will Fantastic Tropical Pwnage server get updates like the official servers?

Of course. As new content is made available to FTP, it will be tested and if successful, will be added to the live game server. However they may not have as many updates as the official game server run by NCSoft. You can find news about ANY updates to the server on the main website ([url]http://www.fantastictropicalpwnage.com[url]) or on their forums.

7.3 - What does "The Chaotic Chronicle" refer to?

The Lineage II world represents the historical time before legitimacy was established by blood. It is a chaotic time in which every person is harboring his or her own ambitions. The inherent struggle is to establish your own legitimacy and justice via Sieges and PvP.

7.4 - What is this Karma system all about anyways?

Every player starts at zero karma. Karma cannot be increased above zero, but unlawful actions (such as PKing) can decrease your karma into chaotic range.

===================================
8. The World
===================================

8.1 - What is the geography of Lineage 2?

The world of Lineage II consists of two continents, and three countries. Each country is made up of six separate territories. Each territory has five to ten hunting grounds. Each country and territory has a unique background, natural environment, and unique set of living creatures. The diameter of a small hunting ground is several meters long, while the diameter of a large hunting field can be as long as several kilometers.

It is a vast world where, from the moment a player enters the game, no loading will be required to move from one zone to another. It will not matter whether a player is located in a gigantic tower or in a vast dungeon.

8.2 - What are the countries?

The three countries in Lineage II are Aden, Elmore, and Grecia. Though Grecia is not currently in the game at this time. Grecia is to be added in the near future.

8.3 - Will everything attack me outside of town?

No, not every monster in the game will be aggressive. Many mobs can be safely walked up too. It’s sometimes worth walking up to a non aggressive monster just to take a look at all the detail they put into the game.

8.4 - Outside of wandering mobs is there anything else I should be aware of?

Yes, indeed there is. Your fellow player. Though it is better to fight with someone then go it alone. Not every player in the game has your best interest at heart. This doesn’t mean you should run away from every player you see in the game. Just pay attention to your surroundings at all times. You never know when today is the day you may be attacked.

9. Quests
===================================

9.1 - How do I find and accept a quest?

Simply select any npc in the game. Upon clicking a second time you should have seen a chat icon. If there is an option to start a quest with this NPC. It will be listed as one of the options highlighted in blue. Select the link and it will take you to a new page detailing the quest if you are allowed to accept one from that NPC.

You may not always be able to take on a quest from an NPC due to many reasons. Some of which would be your level is too small or you may be the wrong race. Some quests require you to have done other npc quests first.

Read the information the NPC gives you about the quest he/she is offering on the newly loaded page. At the very bottom of the page will be the option to accept the quest of not. If you don't want to do the quest simply close the information window. If however, you would like to try the quest simply accept it by pressing the option at the bottom of the page.

Quest information is stored in your quest window (ALT+U.)

9.2 - But im too lazy to go around searching all the NPCs:

No problem. Theres a thing called Adventure Guildsmen. They can be found in almost every town. Once you find one, you can select quests based on level, race, class, etc. And when you click on the quest, it will show an arrow above your head pointing to the starting NPC of the quest.

9.3 - So... whats the point of quests?

Quests can involve advancing in class, leveling your clan, or obtaining an item. Quest give various rewards, rnaging from weapons, to adena, to sellable items for a good amount of adena.
